Yeah apologize for the sound quality. We tried the internet but it didn’t work so he had to call in on phone.

With all due respect, you’re the podcaster here so it’s your job to find out, but okay, I looked it up for you with Bard:

The following apps and services can be used to easily improve the sound of a podcast when on one end someone's audio is poor:

Krisp is a noise-canceling app that works with most video conferencing and recording software. It can remove background noise, echo, and other unwanted sounds from your audio, making it sound more professional and polished. Krisp has a free plan with some limitations, as well as paid plans with more features.

Auphonic [your best bet, I think] is a web-based audio mastering service that can automatically improve the sound of your podcast. It uses artificial intelligence to adjust the levels, EQ, and compression of your audio, making it sound more consistent and polished. Auphonic has a free trial, as well as paid plans with more features.

Adobe Audition is a professional audio editing software that can be used to improve the sound of your podcast. It offers a wide range of features, including noise reduction, EQ, compression, and mastering tools. Adobe Audition has a free trial, as well as paid plans with more features.
