I appreciate the references to Albion's Seed and would recommend Colin Woodward's "American Nations" for anyone who wants an updated version that brings it up to the modern era. The 7 additional "nations" he introduces really fill out the picture of modern America. The last 30 years have added some new nations of immigrants that add some new stones to the soup, so to speak...
